The Christmas gift I have for you this year seems kind of old fashioned because, like with Santa, it’s handmade and I’ve been working on it in my workshop all year. Several years in fact. A lifetime really.
Even so, it will require a great deal of assembly once you open it. But putting it together will be half the fun. I hope you like it.
It really isn’t old fashioned at all. In fact, it’s the newest thing.
I call it the socially responsible, self-managed, profit-sharing (SSP) business model and, if you use it right, you will own and manage your own work, feel good about what you do and receive a fair share of the profit from it.
You may wonder why I give you a business model if you are not in business, but that’s the beauty of it. It’s as disruptive as the latest technology. It’s for everyone and it’s life changing.
Instead of working for a wage set by someone else, you will be determining your own compensation. Instead of being an employee, you will be a new type of entrepreneur who uses the infrastructure of someone else’s company to build your own practice, either in the trades or the professions. Or you might even decide to own the company. It’s your choice!
You will be in charge of your own destiny.
I know this seems too good to be true, but it’s my gift to you. It’s free, so you might as well give it a chance.
I’ve created an online course called NotMyEconomics in which I explain the need for a new business model and why it’s needed. Then I help you develop your personal vision, goals, objectives and strategies, which leads us to the business model I’m giving you. I don’t think you will be able to achieve your goals without it.
Early next year I’m going to help a handful of people start a company based on the SSP business model. It could include you.
First, I will select a wannabe entrepreneur who will own the first SSP-based company. It will be someone who has accumulated a vast amount of what I call human or intellectual capital in his or her chosen trade or profession. He or she will know his or her business! And that’s a kind of startup capital that has value far greater than money.
Together we will recruit more newbie entrepreneurs to join the project as investors of their own human and intellectual capital. I will be one of them as a hands-on advisor.
My compensation will be the knowledge and experience I gain from the project. It will be the pilot project in my own preparation for the launch of a company that will specialize in helping others establish more socially responsible, self-managed, profit-sharing enterprises.
And so, my friend, my Christmas gift to you this year opens the door to opportunity.
As Yogi Berra once said, “When you come to a “Y” in the road, take it.”
Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Glorious New Year! I’ll be on your side and with you every step of the way. My gift keeps on giving.
P.S. The SSP business model isn’t just for newbies. If you’re self-employed, a solopreneur or a small business owner, I wouldn’t underestimate the value of my gift.
